Compound microscope has more magnifying power than simple microscope.
[Important] Differentiate between unicellular and multi-cellular organisms.
·        Unicellular organisms consist of only one cell. e.g. Virus
·        Multi-cellular organisms consist of more than one cell. e.g. Cat, Dog.
[Important] How does a cell membrane differ from a cell wall?
·        Cell wall is made up of dead cells (cellulose)
·        Cell membrane is made up of living cells.
Which type of cells conduct messages in a human body?
Nerve cells conduct messages in human body.
[Very Important] How to observe under a microscope?
·        Look through eyepiece.
·        Place object on glass slide having a drop of water.
·        Now place glass slide on stage.
·        Focus the object using coarse knob.
·        Use fine knob to sharpen the focus.
Name the structures which are present both in animal and plant cells.
i)      Nucleus
ii)     Cell Membrane
iii)    Cytoplasm
[Very Important] Write the functions of:
Flower: -
Flower produces fruits and seeds.
Heart: -
Heart pumps the blood to all body parts.
Liver: -
It produces new blood cells.
Lungs: -
It makes the blood oxygenated and removes carbon dioxide from deoxygenated blood.
[Important] What are the functions of root system in plants?
Root system of plants absorbs water and minerals from soil.
[Important] What are the functions of shoot system in plants?
Shoot system of plant distribute food and water to all cells of plants.
[Important] Why do you think that it is not necessary for an animal to have a cell wall?
Animal cells do not need to keep the structures like plant’s cells, as they have the skeletal system to protect the organs and cushion them against any external injuries.

[Important] Why are the plants green in color?
Plants are green in color due to presence of chlorophyll.

LONG QUESTIONS

[Very Important] What are the main parts of an animal cell? Write their structure and function.
·        Cell membrane is the outer most boundary. It holds the cell together.
·        A ball shaped nucleus is present in center. It controls all the activities of cell.
·        Cytoplasm is present between cell membrane and nucleus. It contains many cell organelles.

What are the main parts of a plant cell? Write their structure and function.
·        Cell wall is outermost boundary. It gives shape and support to cell.
·        A large vacuole is present. It is filled with water called cell sap.
·        Nucleus is present beside vacuole. It controls all the activities of cell.
·        Cytoplasm is present between cell membrane and nucleus. It contains many cell organelles.
